Settlement Loans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Alison_Cole]Alison Cole A settlement loan is often the last resort for plaintiffs who have initiated a process of costly litigation and cannot afford to see the process to an end. There are many expenses that may be beyond a plaintiffs normal paying powers including medical bills, fees payable to expert witnesses and private investigators, court fees, outstanding rent, lost wages, etc. Since many litigation processes can extend over periods as long as two to four years, such expenses pile up and may eventually present an insurmountable financial burden to the plaintiff. Unavailability of funding may result in the abandonment of the legal process, causing untold losses. Settlement loans are made available to these plaintiffs by certain financial institutions such as insurance companies. Private or professional underwriters may also fund expenses incurred by a plaintiff during legal proceedings. There may or may not be a collateral for such a loan, but they are always given in anticipation of the plaintiffs legal victory. Attorneys are required to inform their clients of the availability of these loans if it seems that they are needed. In other words, the legal system supports settlement loans. This makes their provision a rather lucrative business for providers. Banks, as a rule, do not extend settlement loans to plaintiffs. This may be because the provision of a settlement loan boils down to little more than mercenary exploitation a financing institution like an insurance company may take advantage of the plaintiffs helpless state by offering to extend a barely sufficient sum at extremely high rates of interest. Moreover, such financing may come with various strangleholds attached that arent reveled until the last possible moment, disregarding the fact that a plaintiff may incur regular expenses throughout the intervening period. History of Chess

By Arilyn K Chess is indeed one of the oldest games in the world. However, just how old it is isn’t really known. Some rumors have is as more than 2,000 years old. However, the best supporting evidence suggests that the earliest form of chess was played in India in the 6th century AD. Since then chess has spread around the world. Chess became more like the game we now play in the 15th century. However, it wasn’t until the 1800s when the game really became popular. That’s when tournaments, chess clocks, championships, and titles like Grandmaster were introduced. Chess is now one of the most popular game in the world! Chess clubs can be located all over earth holding hundreds of millions of players. Chess is growing even more quickly now that schools and parents recognize the benefits to children’s social and intellectual skills. Chess clubs are popping up all over in school. The Internet and chess computers have also enabled more to play and to increase their skill level in the game. Anyone can now play anytime, you don’t need to worry about finding an opponent to play with. Players can also use the Internet and chess software to help them train and learn. Chess was once predominantly a man’s came, has women and girls learning chess in record numbers. Chess will certainly keep growing. Younger and younger players are achieving Grandmaster status. Players will have to be more accurate in their openings as computer training becomes more available. As chess becomes more competitive, it is hoped that the basic fun of the game doesnt change at all! To learn more or to order premium chess sets and pieces, go to www.premiumchessset.com. Arkansas DWI Law

By Michael Tasner Driving while intoxicated (DWI) is against the law in the state of Arkansas. The Arkansas DUI laws were designed to protect people using the roadways from injury and death due to the actions of drunk drivers. These laws can seem complex to someone who doesnt have a legal education because they have different offense levels and different penalties depending on a number of factors in each individual case. Because these laws are so complex, it is extremely important that you contact an Arkansas DUI lawyer if you have been arrested for driving while intoxicated. Having a legal professional represent you is your best chance for presenting the best defense during your trial and can give you a better chance of winning than if you represented yourself. Driving While Intoxicated There are two ways that a person can be prosecuted for driving while intoxicated in the state of Arkansas. One of these ways is based on the impairment of the driver after consuming alcohol. With this type of prosecution, the case is built around the driver being too impaired to operate a motor vehicle. Driving habits, failure to perform sobriety tests successfully, the physical appearance of the defendant, and the smell of alcohol on the defendant may all be taken into consideration in this type of DWI case. The prosecutor does not have to prove any particular blood alcohol concentration level. The second type of DUI case is based on chemical testing, not on driver habits or behavior. In this type of DUI case, the defendant had a blood alcohol concentration level of greater than the legal limit of 0.08%. Whether the defendant was actually impaired is not relevant in this type of case. The prosecutor simply has to prove that the legal blood alcohol level was exceeded. Both types of cases have serious legal and administrative consequences so it is important that you contact an Arkansas DUI lawyer immediately so you have someone to guide you through the legal system and defend you both in court and at any Department of Motor Vehicles proceedings. Arkansas DMV Penalties Being charged with DUI means that you will have to deal with the Department of Motor Vehicles. The DMV can impose administrative punishments on you as a result of your DUI charge. Because experience can make these proceedings go more smoothly, it is important that you contact an Arkansas DUI attorney immediately after your arrest so you can be represented in both your criminal trial and any DMV proceedings against you. The penalties imposed by the DMV vary based on any prior offenses as well as your blood alcohol concentration level. For a first offense with alcohol, the penalty is a 120 day license suspension as long as your blood alcohol level was less than 0.18%. You may be able to get a restricted license that allows you to commute to and from work, but an Arkansas DUI lawyer would be your best source of information and advice. For a first offense with drugs, the penalty is a six-month license suspension. Refusal to submit to a chemical test results in a 180 day suspension, regardless of whether you committed a DUI offense or not. The administrative penalties for a second offense are a two year suspension with the possibility of receiving a restricted work permit after one year of the suspension. The penalty for a second chemical testing refusal is a two year suspension with no possibility of obtaining a restricted license. A third offense results in a suspension period of 30 months with no possibility of a restricted license for at least one year. A third refusal to submit to chemical testing results in a three year suspension with no option of receiving a restricted work license. Fourth and subsequent offenses result in a four year revocation of the drivers license for DWI. For refusal to submit to chemical testing, a fourth offense results in the lifetime revocation of your license. There are no exceptions to this penalty. It is important that you have an Arkansas DUI lawyer represent you in DMV proceedings because the information gathered may help you in your trial. If you have refused to submit to chemical testing, it can also help to have your attorney refute the prosecutors claim that your refusal indicates guilt on your part. Arkansas Criminal DUI Penalties If you are charged with driving while intoxicated, you will not only face criminal charges, you will also face losing your license through the DMV. The criminal proceedings remain separate from the DMV proceedings and any penalties imposed by the court are separate from penalties imposed by the DMV. The criminal penalties vary with the severity of the offense, the number of prior DUI convictions, and other circumstances. Enhancements to these penalties can be made in specific situations. For a first DUI offense, you can face one day up to one year in jail, court costs of $300, and fines from $150-$1,000. The courts may use community service as an alternative to jail time for a first offense. A second DUI offense can result in 7 days to one year in jail, a fine of no less than $400 all the way up to $3,000, and $300 in court costs. The court may choose to replace jail time with a period of no less than 30 days of community service. If you have two prior convictions and are convicted a third time, you face 90 days to one year in jail and fines of no less than $900 and no more than $5,000. The court may choose to replace jail time with no less than 90 days of community service. If you have three prior convictions, a fourth DUI will be prosecuted as a felony, making the punishments more severe. You can face anywhere from one to six years of jail time and fines of no less than $900 and no more than $5,000. The court may substitute one year of community service for jail time if it is warranted. A fifth DUI charge is also prosecuted as a felony if you have four prior convictions, as are any subsequent offenses. You can face anywhere from two to ten years in a state penitentiary and fines of no less than $900 and no more than $5,000. The court may choose to impose two years of community service as an alternative to jail time. Fill out a free case evaluation to contact a Arkansas DUI Attorney today! Save Money With A Used Cellular Phone

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michelle_Bery]Michelle Bery It is a rare few of us who do not own a cell phone in todays modern world. What was once considered an expensive luxury item is now a commonplace accessory of sorts that travels with us everywhere we go; tucked into our pocket, slipped into our handbag, and stored in our briefcases, the cell phone is part of our every day existence and something that we rarely leave for very long. In fact, if its missing or we accidentally leave it at home, we feel its absence intensely. Part of owning a cell phone, of course, in addition to the service contracts, is making sure that you have the phone that you need. With newer and better cell phone models hitting the shelves day after day it is hard to keep pace with technology. And for some, the purchase of these high-end cell phones can be cost-prohibitive. Luckily, there is the opportunity to purchase a used cellular phone and save money while still getting all the features and services you need. A used cellular phone does not mean purchasing an older, worn-out phone. There are many people who are absolutely set on getting the latest and greatest cell phone as soon as it hits the market; and this is a trend of which savvy consumers can take advantage. Many who trade up their cell phones wind up turning their used cellular phones into their cell phone service providers. For you, looking to save money and still take advantage of all the features offered through modern cell phones, the used cellular phone can be the way to go. Just as with a used car, a used cellular phone with a few miles on it is suddenly worth a lot less money than it was sitting on the shelf of the store. And while it may have had a few months of usage the features that it offers are still the same. You can find deals on a used cellular phone in a number of places including your cell phone service provider and through online resources. The Internet is one of the best ways to find a used cellular phone that has all the bells and whistles that you want, without the high price tag that you can do without. The Power Source

By Bill Bright Peter replied, Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far offfor all whom the Lord our God will call. –ACTS 2:3839 Approximately two thousand years ago, Peter and the other apostles proclaimed the truth that is at the very heart of the lighthouse ministries. The gift and ministry of the Holy Spirit is the most important truth any believer can receive. The great evangelist Dwight L. Moody knew this well. One day in New Yorkwhat a day! he once declared. I cant describe it. I seldom refer to it. It was almost too sacred to name. I can only say God revealed Himself to me. I had such an experience of love that I had to ask Him to stay His hand. I went to preaching again. The sermons were no different. I did not present any new truth. Yet hundreds were converted. I would not go back where I was before that blessed experience if you would give me Glasgow. The Holy Spirit is the key to revival and awakening because He is the key to supernatural living. Apart from living in the fullness of the Spirit, the believer has no power to introduce others to Christ. The Holy Spirit is convicting many Christians of their lethargy, their cold-ness of heart, their unbelief, the loss of their first love. A spiritual explosion is spreading the Good News of Christ far and wide throughout the world. There is a resurgence in evangelism unparalleled in church history, as we endeavorin the power of the Holy Spiritto help fulfill the Great Commission. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY Through the power of the Holy Spirit, lighthouses for Christ are beaming the greatest of all news not only to their neighbors, but also to all who are far off. Adoption - The Legal Process

By Michael Russell Adoption creates a new and permanent family for a child. The adoption process takes place in a courtroom with a judge. The adoptive parent or parents are given all the rights and responsibilities of a biological family member. Before the parents are given the rights to the child, the court decides if the biological or placing parents have legally, with full understanding, either voluntarily given up their parental rights or the rights have been terminated by the court. Either one of these actions - the cutting away of the biological or placing parents’ rights and the conference of parental rights on the adoptive parents, will finalize the process. Both actions may be done at the same time. The judge reviews information about the child, the biological parents and the adopting parents during the finalization of the court hearing. The information that is reviewed can include some of the following: - Whether the adopting parents and the child are suited for each other - Reports about the adopting parents and placing the child with them. - Notes and recommendations from the case workers. Some of the people that may attend the finalization hearing may include: - Adopting parent(s) - The adopting parent(s) attorney - Biological or placing parent(s) - The biological parent(s) or placing parent(s) attorney - The child or children to be adopted - The child’s case worker - Case worker of the adoptive parent(s) - Biological or placing parents’ case worker or advocate The judge may ask questions of all parties, including the child or children if they are old enough to communicate. The judge will then make his/her decision and approve or disapprove the petition to adopt. If the judge approves the adoption, it is finalized and an Adoption Decree is issued. In the US, when the adoption is finalized, the child’s name is legally changed and the child receives an amended birth certificate on which the adoptive parent(s)’ name replaces that of the biological or placing parent(s) and the child’s birth name is replaced with his/her new name. All documents and the original birth certificate are sealed and not usually available to the parties of the adoption, as per the state law in the US. When adopting from other countries, the laws and regulations of the countries involved are observed as well as the laws and regulations of the US. People Who Can Adopt - People who adopt may be married or single and already have children or may be childless at the time of the adoption. - A person that adopts a child may have a disability; this does not disqualify you from adopting. However, agencies want to ensure that a person can care for a child and meet the child’s needs. - If a person is divorced this does not automatically disqualify them from adoption. - A person that adopts does not have to own their own home or have a high income in as long as they meet the needs of the child - permanence, stability, a lifetime commitment and a chance to be part of a family. One does not have to be a perfect parent to adopt. The child needs caring and committed parent(s) who are willing to meet their needs and to incorporate them into a nurturing family environment. How to Tie a Tie and How To Kiss - What Do They Have In Common?

By Graeme Sprigge How to Tie a Tie and How To Kiss - What Do They Have In Common? Now before you decide I’ve gone totally bananas, there is a connection between these two subjects but it’s not perhaps obvious straight away. For most - men anyway - they learn how to do one of these before the other. Individual cases may vary, which one were you in? So you wanna know? Both of these terms are some of the most searched for internet keywords every month. How to tie a tie gets 46000 searches per month and how to kiss 16000. I have to confess, this actually blew me away. I can understand the kissing one, but how to tie a tie is incredible. My point here relates entirely to marketing and this is that for a marketer, it’s not what you THINK people are looking for, it’s what they ARE actually looking for. Imagine if you could somehow capture some of this interest. I mean, I can see a whole bunch of how to tie tie sites cropping up all over the internet. In the next 2 years the population of planet earth will be the most educated tie tieers in the whole universe. Mind boggling! But you can take this principle and steel yourself to walk in the other mans shoes. This is the key to ultimate success as a marketer. It involves stepping outside of your own viewpoint and looking at something akin to an objective want. As an affiliate this is a core skill and one that I am constantly working on. If you do actually want to tie a tie, just search under google and you will find some great sites. Tie a Tie.net is a beauty. I’m not associated with it. Graeme Sprigge is the author of The 90 Minute Car Salesman and is involved with a number of affiliate programs. After reading a number of books on affiliate marketing he has only found a few that produce real results. http://www.90minutecarsalesman.com/affiliatemarketingreview.html Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Graeme_Sprigge http://EzineArticles.com/?How-to-Tie-a-Tie-and-How-To-Kiss—What-Do-They-Have-In-Common?&id=34054 buy phentermine without a prescription phentermine no prescription fast buy prescription phentermine phentermine online doctor approval

Knitting with a Machine? Beware of the Twist!

By Linda Black When you buy a knitting machine, the yarn that you knit with is just as important as the machine itself. The yarn composition (natural or synthetic), the degree of twist and the resulting knitted texture are all-important to the success of your finished garments. Very few knitting machines are bought without a certain amount of trepidation. There is always that feeling that learning how to use one will prove too difficult but, in fact, most anyone can learn to use the modern knitting machine. The problems that most new machine knitters encounter are more often due to the yarn or pattern used than to the machine itself. Its sadly true that being able to use the machine competently will never make up for working with a poor pattern or an inappropriate yarn. Lots of knitters only need to see ‘4-ply’ written on a pattern and they assume that any old 4-ply yarn will knit up just as well. Oh no! Think of a 4-ply baby yarn compared with a 4-ply crepe. Both are termed 4-ply but the low-twist baby yarn is soft, while the high-twist crepe is very firm. Theres little similarity between these two types of yarn, even when the fibre content is the same and this is due to the extent of twist applied by the yarn manufacturer. Twist, texture and tension are inseparable. The degree of twist will always affect the texture and this, in turn, will affect the firmness or softness of the finished fabric. Twist and texture affect the tension swatch. Twist (or lack of it!) will determine the shape of the stitch which, in turn, will affect the width and length of the tension swatch. A firm high-twist yarn will produce a stitch of a certain size and shape, depending on the machine tension setting or, in hand-knitting, the size of needle used. This type of stitch is not likely to change its size or shape very much. On the other hand, the stitches knitted in a soft low-twist yarn may fall into a mixture of shapes, depending on how the work is pulled and pressed. These factors can have a huge effect on the tension swatch, making yarn substitution quite a risk for an inexperienced knitter! Yarn is generally sold by weight but its always worth looking at the cone label or ball band to check the yarn length in metres/yards. Going back to the baby yarn and crepe example, a 1oz (25gm) ball of baby yarn is likely to contain a longer length of yarn than the same weight of crepe. This is because the crepe has been tightly twisted to give a firm non-pill yarn. Twisting not only changes the texture, it also shortens the length. Look at some hand-knitting patterns for crepe yarns and youll see they usually need several extra balls to complete the garment and this, of course, makes it more expensive to knit them! Effects of Glyconutritional Supplements in Children With Bipolar Disorder

By Mary Zesiewicz, MD The following is a synopsis of a research study completed with 20 children diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, examining the benefits of glyconutritional supplements: Bipolar Disorder is diagnosed with increasing frequency in children and adolescents. Approximately 20% of all Bipolar patients experience their first episode during adolescence. Challenges in diagnosis include differentiation from ADD and other child behavioral disorders. The intensity and severity of mood swings and unprovoked behavioral outbursts create undue suffering for both the children and their families. Treatment includes both medications and therapy. Mood stabilizers and a newer class of medication, atypical antipsychotics, are used with increasing frequency. While meds are more of a last resort clinically, the option becomes higher priority when a youngster’s outbursts become a risk to hurt self or others, even accidentally. Caution with medication is always indicated, due to risk of side effects and the lack of research of many of these medications in children. The study examined the potential benefits of glyconutritional supplements for a period of 5 months. The results of this study were promising. Of 15 children who completed the study, 14 exhibited considerable improvement after 20 weeks on glyconutritional supplements. One child exhibited mild improvement on glyconutritional supplements. Children who experienced side effects from the medications for Bipolar Disorder displayed considerable improvement in their tolerability to medication. Examples included: near elimination in sedation from Risperdal and elimination of migraines while on Seroquel and Trileptal. One youngster who had been very fatigued from his medication regimen, which included Trileptal, Lexapro, Ambien, Abilify and Seroquel, experienced elimination of daytime fatigue by week 12. It was also clear to the researchers and study volunteers that the children looked happier, healthier, calmer and more stable as the study progressed. At the onset of this study, all parents expressed interest in the potential benefits of the supplements, particularly in offsetting side effects; however, all parents were clear that it had take quite along time for their children to become stable on their medications and they wished not to make changes in their medications prematurely. Many of the children had been hospitalized at least once. All families were highly invested in their childrens’ well-being and each felt their child’s condition was the single largest stressor in the family, including for the child who suffered from the condition. Our initial study results speak to the need for larger clinical trials over longer periods of time. Along with use of psychotropic medications in children, augmentation strategies with natural supplements, particularly glyconutritionals, warrant further consideration to improve childrens’ overall health, augment mood stabilizing effects of medications and improve tolerability of medications. Longer term studies may determine if medications could be successfully weaned, at least in part, over a longer period of time. Copyright 2006 INTEGRITY HEATH SOLUTIONS Mary F.
